Digital Photographic Practice. Ex. 17. Colours into Tones.

Exercise 17.
          Coloured Image 1).

Possibly a family group - mother, daughter
 and teenage brother.
The colouring of the brother, whilst tending to
sway the viewer's interest, does not dominate
the scene. It is a fairly balanced image.

    Default Black and White.

A good range of tones - image balanced
- details of features and ornaments are
clear.

          Darkening Reds

The reds have darkened and at the same
time the blues have lightened considerably.
This has resulted in a most impressive change
of the natural and artificial skin colours. The
 image relationship between the standing
youth and the mother/daughter has changed.
The youth now dominates the scene.

         Lighten Red.

Here the skin tones have reversed. The reds
are lighter and the blues darker. The mother/daughter group dominate the scene. The tonal difference
between yellow and red is less thus the mother/
daughter is more of a composite whole carrying more visual weight than the now subdued youth.
