Digital Photographic Practice Ex.14. Interpretative Processing.

Shot as taken of a restaurant under a part
glazed roof. WB value 5350k.
The atmosphere is a little over warm.

Reducing the saturation level still retains
a natural colour but the inviting warmth
and implied comfort has been lost. The
restaurant almost blends in with its
surroundings.

A dramatic change in ambient colour
brings a greater stimulation to the scene.
It would have a greater impact on the
casual passing pedestrians.

I prefer of these three, the first, with perhaps a little less saturation of the red.

This is an entirely different image. Taken in the
Lake District walking up Deepdale towards
Hart Crag. A beautiful awe inspiring scene with
an interesting sky which should cause the walker
to make judgements. Soft variable greens
changing into the harsh blacks and greys
of the higher slopes - it would be difficult
to improve on this scene.

Here the weather has worsened. The sky
has become heavy and oppressive and the
colour changed to a steely blue.
Time to turn back.

Another time of year. The heather is
in full bloom and the sky brighter.
This is a colourful view, probably not
as subtle as nature.

Of the three I prefer the first. There is enough drama in the sky and a delicate mix of blues and greens.
